Eyeglass Recycling

Used Eyeglass Recycling Program

In keeping with the Lions tradition of helping those with low or poor vision, the Tuckahoe-Eastchester Lions collect used eyeglasses for recycling.

In 2005, we collected close to 20,000 pairs!

All types of eyeglasses are accepted and all donations are welcome.

The used eyeglasses are sent to a recycling center where they are cleaned and checked for prescription strength.  Then they are sorted and sent to Lions Clubs in developing countries who distribute the glasses to needy individuals.
